Public libraries empower, inspire, and provide all people the opportunity to better themselves and their community.
The Library Foundation of Jacksonville serves as a nonprofit partner with the Jacksonville Public Library to provide financial support for programs and services not funded through taxpayer dollars. Private, corporate and foundation dollars help fund collections, literacy programs, children's story hours, and so much more. Your gift helps keep these vital services OPEN TO ALL.
Through collaboration with the Library, the following are key areas and programs supported by the Foundation:
Youth Learning and Literacy
- Opportunities to give youth and their caregivers tools and experiences that support and enrich literacy development. Examples: Summer Learning and Library Academy Programs.
Center for Adult Learning - Help adults develop the skills and knowledge they need to achieve their life goals - better jobs, higher education, richer lives with family, friends and their communities. Example: High school diploma (GED) program.
Cultural Literacy - Connect adults seeking rich experiences with art, literature, science and technology. Examples: Lit Chat author talks and workshops.
Special Collections
- Books, documents, art and artifacts representing the history makers and topics that are of great importance to the people of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Examples: African American and Holocaust Collections.
Area of Greatest Need - Your gift provides JPLF with the most flexibility in addressing current needs of the library.
Recurring gifts help create a predictable funding stream that the library can use to fill the funding gap above what public funds provide. Your generous gifts on a monthly (or other) schedule will power any number of programs.
For example, $5 per month for one year will help 12 children attend a neighborhood Summer Learning program. Research shows that participation in these programs stops the dreaded "summer slide" and helps children retain their school-year educational gains.
Thank you for considering a recurring gift!
