Our mission is to inspire, advocate and grow philanthropic support for the Jacksonville Public Library in service to lifelong learners throughout our diverse community.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES


Fiscal Strength and Oversight

  • Use best practices and transparency in all financial matters
  • Implement fiscal policies and investment strategies that ensure the stability and growth of the Foundation
  • Place a philanthropic focus on covering operating expenses (unrestricted funds) as well as library-directed expenses (restricted funds)

 

Organizational Governance & Culture

  • Cultivate a Board of Directors that exemplifies best practices in governance and enhance the LFJ’s influence by providing outstanding leadership and community awareness
  • Create a collaborative, mission-driven environment and generate revenues to enable staff to deliver superior service to supporters, donors and sponsors

 

Community Impact (Fund-Raising and Friend-Raising)

  • Conduct an ongoing assessment to gauge/determine effectiveness of activities that generate support (and supporters), donations (and donors), sponsorships (and sponsors) and partners
  • Evaluate the value of Library programs and services through donor support and share it with the community
  • Provide stewardship and express appreciation to our donors who support JPLF
